Whiskey Club Releases

Urban Family Brewing is a beloved staple in the Seattle craft beer scene, known for their ever-changing lineup of fruited sour beers, IPAs, lagers, dark beers, and barleywine. For this release, Urban Family matured their Treehouse in the City barleywine using a Copperworks cask which previously held American Single Malt Whiskey, then returned the cask to us.

We took this cask, now rich with barleywine flavor, and filled it with three-and-a-half-year-old Copperworks signature Five Malt whiskey. After ten months of additional maturation in the finishing cask, we bottled this flavorful whiskey.

This whiskey was crafted from Pale Malt and matured for six years and five months in two refilled Copperworks casks before being transferred and finished in a St. George Apple Brandy cask. The whiskey rested in the brandy cask for an additional one year and seven months, for a total maturation of eight years.

Copperworks Arette Cask American Single Malt Whiskey was crafted from our signature Five Malt recipe and matured for five years and seven months in a refill American Single Malt Whiskey cask before being finished in an Arette Tequila cask for an additional one year and nine months. That’s over twice as long as our last tequila cask finish whiskey release! This gorgeous whiskey was then bottled at 100 proof.

Our Copperworks Amaro Cask American Single Malt Whiskey was distilled from a “Queen’s Run,” then matured for seven years and eight months in a refilled Copperworks Whiskey cask before being transferred into the amaro cask.

The amaro cask we used to finish this whiskey was a former Copperworks Whiskey cask which had spent the last three years maturing Letterpress Distilling’s latest batch of Amaro Amorino Riserva, the cask-matured sibling of their beloved Amaro Amorino. After only a month of finishing, we found our whiskey had taken on a wonderful character and proceeded to bottle this beautiful whiskey.

Copperworks Red Wine Cask American Single Malt Whiskey is distilled from single varietal Genie barley grown in Athena, Oregon, just across the Washington border in the Walla Walla Valley. It was matured for over six years in a French oak cask previously used to age red wine in Europe, bringing together locally grown barley with complex, old-world wine flavors.
